Family medicine is an important part of the well being of the community. It’s especially important to the poor and under served.  Unfortunately, there’s a shortage of family doctors throughout the United States. Media Stream created an award-winning video campaign for the Phelps Residency Program. The Family Medicine Program under the leadership of Program Director Dr. Shantie Harkisoon trains family doctors in real community settings. The residents treat people from all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.  Phelps Hospital has partnered with New York Medical College to train family doctors in Westchester County. Phelps Hospital is the primary clinical site for the family medicine residency program. They have a 238-bed acute care community hospital.  As a result the hospital provides one of the most comprehensive programs in Westchester County. It is an important part of Northwell Health, the largest health system in New York State.
