The purpose of the video was to raise funds for improvements to the . A big part of the exhibits found at the museum detail the engineering skills of the Seabeees and their connection to today’s latest technology. The video features testimony from Lowell McAdam, Chairman and CEO of Verizon Communications a former naval civil engineer. He gives testimony to the need for increased emphasis in our country’s schools for STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. The video also features testimony from the late retired Rear Admiral Ben Montoya. Admiral Montoya was the former head of the Navy’s Civil Engineer Corp. He believed that by expanding the exhibits at the museum related to the Seabees and STEM it would inspire young people to take up careers in engineering and construction related industries. Admiral Montoya was an inspiration to the many people who followed his leadership in making the Seabee Museum a destination for anyone interested in the Seabees and their “Can Do” spirit. Media Stream Producer John Heaney traveled to California and Wyoming for interviews with key supporters connected to the museum and the Seabee’s Diamond Anniversary celebrations.
