Media Stream produced a series of medical residency and fellowship recruitment videos for Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York. The videos were designed to introduce prospective physicians to individual residency and fellowship programs, faculty, residents, clinical training opportunities and the experience of training at Albany Medical Center.

The Challenge

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Albany Medical Center approached Media Stream to produce a series of medical residency and fellowship recruitment videos. The challenge was to efficiently record physicians, residents and staff while accommodating demanding hospital schedules and creating compelling content for prospective residency and fellowship candidates.

The Video Solution

Media Stream developed an efficient one-day production strategy for each residency and fellowship program. An interview location was established at the hospital where physicians, residents and staff could participate as their schedules allowed throughout the production day.

Between interviews, Media Stream recorded supporting footage, or B-roll, of physicians, staff and the hospital environment. When participants were unavailable on their program’s scheduled production day, interviews could often be recorded during another residency or fellowship shoot.

This flexible approach allowed Media Stream to work around demanding medical schedules while capturing the interviews and supporting footage needed for each recruitment video.

The Result

The completed videos gave Albany Medical Center’s residency and fellowship programs professional recruitment content highlighting their medical education programs, faculty, residents, clinical environment and supportive community.

More than five years after production, the videos continue to be used by Albany Medical Center for medical residency and fellowship recruitment.
